Sidechain

Browser game for biochemistry teaching

A daily five-residue peptide puzzle for undergraduate biochemistry, with a scaffolded high-school mode. Guesses are scored on side-chain chemistry rather than letters, and solving reveals the real protein motif you built.

Each position reports residue class and a Kyte–Doolittle hydropathy compass, and the peptide's integer mass turns the endgame into arithmetic. Puzzle data is precomputed in Python, every mechanic was calibrated with a solver before it shipped, and most of the 43 motifs are located programmatically in UniProt sequences.
